Buddy Brew Coffee was named Small Business of the Year by the Tampa Bay Chamber at the 41st Annual Small Business of the Year Awards on Sept. 30, 2021. Buddy Brew was the winner in the category of 51-250 employees.
Every year the Tampa Chamber receives nominations for hundreds of businesses and narrows down the field through a lengthy and rigorous vetting process. Applicants submit an application outlining the company’s achievements in regards to five criteria: History and Philosophy; Management; Operations; Innovation and Technology; and Community Contributions. The winners were announced Sept. 30 at a gala event at Armature Works.
“We are so honored and thankful to win this prestigious award among such a competitive group of nominees,” said Dave and Susan Ward, co-founders of Buddy Brew Coffee. “We owe this success to our amazing employees, because of how they live out our ‘Brew Good, Do Good’ mission. They share joy and inspire hope every day and are the reason Buddy Brew Coffee is a light in this community.”
There are eight Buddy Brew Cafés across Tampa Bay. The company’s corporate motto and mission, “Brew Good, Do Good,” is lived out in many ways, including investing in the livelihoods of independent coffee farmers and women-owned co-ops, and donations to local and global charities.
